Day 1, Venice

Breakfast at Albergo Marin is excellent so we set off merrily across the bridges to St Marks Square. We had pre booked the first entry slot to the Ducal Palace museum – astonishingly large ornate halls, one after another, to house the various (male) Councils that ruled at home and across the powerful trading medieval Venetian empire. At one point there was a decision to trim the 2,000 members!

One part of the enormous prison, within the Ducal Palace, occupying two storeys

Then stops in between wandering for coffee and lunch.

St Marks Square

Off to the Musee Corer, St Marks Square to spend >2 hours in the labyrinthine exhibition. I enjoyed the Mapa Mandi by Fra. Mauri https://artsandculture.google.com/story/fra-mauro-s-mappa-mundi/8QXhzVkYn-sMLA?hl=en#

Many interesting window displays in the area of many costumes and masks for the Festival
